The figures of Tacha Vosburgh stand as sentinels to stories of people that have never happened, but are always happening. They are portraits of no one in particular but of everyone. The artist is reaching for that strange, but somehow familiar place that we long to connect with, that place of grounding that we know about if we just take the time to remember.

“MY VOICE” Mail-artists were asked to rise and give voice to persons who felt un-represented by their governments. Works from England, Germany, Spain, Japan, Canada and the United States will be on display.
“Panopticon 08” In 2003, at The Cordell Taylor Gallery, the artist group, iMiNiMi, presented the collaborative installation “Panopticon 21”. It was a cautionary tale of total social control through surveillance. Through video and print images of that event, viewers can compare that tale with the electronic Panopticon now set up to inspect and record our e-mails and phone calls.

Mike Mancarella's Junoworks is completing a large, moveable gallery in the shape of a mosque that will be installed in Civic Center Park for the DNC. Thomas Loughlin is the designer, photographer and catalyst for this exhibit called 'pictures of you, images from Iran.' Read more in Mary Voelz Chandler's article in the Rocky Mountain News.
The installation will include a tent covered with portraits of Iranians; inside, similar images will be printed on translucent silk, allowing viewers to see the faces of those looking through the material from the other side. At the tent's center will be a dome, similar to a mosque; verses of Persian poetry and ambient sound will fill the tent.
The installation will share Civic Center Park with Re-create 68. To see pictures of the what the final tent will look like visit: http://www.picturesofyouiran.com
